Frequently Asked Questions
MOL has been described as “simple but not easy”. Even when the rationale and justification for MOL is recognised and understood, it can still be difficult for people to transition to using the original, “plain vanilla” MOL. It seems that, since MOL was developed as an effective and efficient way of helping people resolve psychological distress, hybrid or otherwise altered versions have arisen. This supervision program is entirely focussed on developing skills and expertise in the “plain vanilla” version of MOL as a direct application of PCT principles. People engaging in this program can expect to become more confident in their application of MOL with a broad spectrum of problems and presentations.
The program will be ideal for people who want to use the original MOL to help others resolve psychological distress. People engaging in the program will have completed the MOL Online Training Course and will be able to spend time each week creating MOL conversations with other people.
To enrol in the program people must have a Certificate of Completion from the MOL Online Training Course.
The program is online and has synchronous and asynchronous components. It is designed to be flexible to accommodate a range of personal circumstances. While the program cannot be extended indefinitely, time schedules can be negotiated as required. Some components such as group supervision, however, will need to be completed within the scheduled timeframe. If all components are not able to be completed a Certificate of Completion will not be able to be issued.
Yes! You can communicate with Professor Timothy Carey and other supervisees via the discussion forums, ensuring you have ample support throughout the program.
The program is designed to be completed within 6 months.
The program has a number of monthly activities such as individual and group supervision as well as weekly activities including reflections about MOL conversations. Insights and learnings from all activities are recorded and shared in the discussion forums.
